Ras Za'atar
Également connu sous le nom de : Ras Zaatar · Ras Zatar · Ras Za'atir
Ras Za'atar marks the southern entrance of Marsa Bareika, and dives stay on the outer side because the inside of the bay is protected. Drifting with the wall on one side, divers pass chimneys that open from about 10 to 15 m up to the reef top, letting beams of sunlight into the cracks. A pinnacle with a table coral and a sea fan sits at about 21 to 22 m and hosts glassfish, boxer shrimps and longnose hawkfish. The wall is hung with soft corals, gorgonians and black coral, and after the corner the reef slopes to a coral plateau. In summer grey reef sharks, eagle rays and mantas join the schools of barracuda, jacks and tuna.
