Com Pier
Com Pier lies at the end of the road through the fishing village of Com, about five to six hours by car east of Dili. Divers follow the pier and the debris scattered on the seabed below it, which gives the dive a feel close to a wreck dive. The holes and pylons are home to eels, scorpionfish, lionfish, crabs and shrimp, and guides also mention nudibranchs and yellow frogfish. The corals growing on the pylons open up after dark in colours from orange to green, so the pier is also recommended as a night dive. Entering from the pier is awkward at low tide, so a boat or a swim out from the shore is the easier way in, and a sign on the pier warns of crocodiles.
