A dive region on the southwestern coast of Cebu Island, Philippines, known for the sardine run near Pescador Island and a string of reef and wall dive sites facing the Tanon Strait.
Moalboal occupies a peninsula on Cebu's southwestern coast, facing the Tanon Strait with Negros Island visible offshore. Since the 1970s the town has built a tourism economy centered on recreational diving and beaches. Pescador Island, about 3 km off the coast, is the area's best-known dive site, featuring an underwater cave known as the Cathedral and a drop-off descending past 40 metres; the surrounding waters are visited by sea turtles, sardine schools, and occasional whale sharks, dolphins and thresher sharks. Other sites along the coast include the Airplane Wreck, Talisay Wall, and the protected areas of Tongo Marine Sanctuary and Tuble Marine Sanctuary.
