Dakak, on the northern tip of the Zamboanga Peninsula near Dapitan City, is a known dive area on Mindanao's Sulu Sea coast, offering slopes, coral thickets, vertical walls and caves.
Dakak Beach lies in Barangay Taguilon, Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte, facing the Sulu Sea and sheltered by surrounding islands and mountains, keeping it largely outside the typhoon belt. The area is best dived from March to September and includes sites such as Liuay Rock, a gentle slope suited to novices; The Caves, featuring steep walls and swim-through caves; a sunken passenger liner wreck; and Cesar's Reef, known for napoleon wrasse, tuna and parrotfish.
