A UNESCO World Heritage raised coral atoll about 1,000 km from Mahe, considered one of the most remote and pristine diving destinations in the world.
Aldabra Atoll consists of 46 islands with a combined area of 155.4 square kilometres, the world's second-largest coral atoll. Diving requires prior approval from the Seychelles Islands Foundation due to its protected status as a special reserve. Dive sites include coral reefs, drop-offs and caves on the outer walls, plus channels with strong drift currents into the lagoon, home to giant morays, jacks, barracudas, groupers, sea turtles, eagle rays and reef sharks.
