Cozinha lies on the eastern flank of the islet inside the nature reserve. Large rocks that eroded from the islet have tumbled down its wall and form many passages down to about 10 m. Below, small rock formations mix with sand to a maximum of 18 m. The reserve status shows in the fish life, with Azores chromis, ornate wrasse, rainbow wrasse, salema, blennies and red scorpionfish among the species named. Local operators also use it for night dives, photography and snorkelling.
