KT12 Wreck

The torpedo split the hull, separating the bow from the rest of the ship; the bow lies on the sand at about 30 m some distance away. The main wreck is well preserved, with the stern gun, propeller and rudder clearly visible, and the torpedo damage and cargo holds can be explored. Skeletons of armoured vehicles that were part of the cargo lie nearby. Groupers, moray eels, scorpionfish, lobsters and triggerfish live on the wreck, and amberjack and tuna pass in the blue. It is reached by boat from Orosei or, in about 35 to 40 minutes, from Cala Gonone.
