Redang and Lang Tengah Islands

Malaysia

Redang and Lang Tengah are neighbouring islands off Terengganu, Malaysia, part of a marine park archipelago known for clear water, coral reefs and turtle nesting beaches.

Redang Island, administered under Kuala Nerus District, Terengganu, is one of the larger islands off the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia and forms part of an island cluster protected as marine parks, with protection extending two nautical miles from shore. Its coastal waters are known for clear visibility, and the island serves as a turtle nesting site. Lang Tengah Island lies nearby within the same archipelago and is reached by boat from the mainland village of Tanjung Merang; it is smaller and less developed than Redang, with green and hawksbill turtles occasionally nesting on its beaches.
