Myanmar
The Mergui Archipelago (Myeik Archipelago) is a group of roughly 800 islands in the Andaman Sea off Myanmar's Tanintharyi Region.
The archipelago is composed mainly of limestone and granite islands covered in dense tropical rainforest. The largest island, Kadan Kyun, rises to 767 metres. The area holds most of Myanmar's coral reef along with extensive mangrove forests and seagrass meadows, and includes Lampi Island Marine National Park, Myanmar's first marine national park, designated in 1996. It is on UNESCO's Tentative World Heritage List and is home to the Moken, a sea-dwelling ethnic minority.
