Kimbe Bay is a large bay on the northern coast of New Britain, Papua New Guinea, recognized as one of the most biodiverse coral reef areas in the world.
Kimbe Bay lies off the northern coast of New Britain in West New Britain Province, opening into the Bismarck Sea, and stretches from the Willaumez Peninsula in the west to Lolobau Island in the east. The bay is considered an important marine biodiversity hotspot, with sources reporting around 60 percent of the coral species of the entire Indo-Pacific region and more than 860 coral reef fish species present. Walindi Plantation Resort, on the Willaumez Peninsula, is the region's dive resort base.
