The Gulf of Tadjoura is a coastal inlet of the Gulf of Aden in Djibouti, widely known among divers for seasonal whale shark encounters, particularly in its Arta Bay area.
The Gulf of Tadjoura is a bay on the Djiboutian coast bordered by the towns of Tadjoura and Obock, with Moucha Island the largest island within the gulf. It is one of the country's main tourist draws, attracting visitors for snorkelling and diving with whale sharks. Within the gulf, the Arta Bay area has been documented as a site of recurring whale shark presence, predominantly juveniles.
