Cayman Islands
Grand Cayman, the largest of the three Cayman Islands, is ringed by a continuous system of coral reefs and vertical walls that drop into the Cayman Trench.
The island is bordered on all sides by fringing reef and drop-offs, grouped by dive operators into the North Wall, the West Bay/Seven Mile Beach reefs, the South Coast sites, and the East End reef system. The leeward West side is the most frequently dived area due to calmer conditions, while the South Coast and East End are known for deeper walls, canyons and swim-throughs. The island is also known for shipwreck dives and the Stingray City sandbar.
