Curaçao
The Curacao Underwater Park, also known as the Curacao Marine Park, is a marine protected area running along Curacao's sheltered leeward southern coast, known for steep reef walls close to shore.
Established in 1983, the original Curacao Underwater Park stretches from the former Breezes Hotel (Princess Beach) to Eastpoint, protecting fringing reefs, inner bays and mangrove habitat. A specially protected southeastern section running about 21.7 km from Jan Thiel to Oostpunt was designated in 2021 under the Cartagena Convention. The park sits on a narrow submarine shelf that drops steeply into deep water close to shore, producing the wall-diving terrain the island is known for. No verifiable centre coordinate for the park was found, so none is set here.
