Con Dao is a remote 16-island archipelago off southern Vietnam, protected as a national park and largely no-take marine protected area, prized for exceptional water clarity and pristine coral reefs.
The Con Dao archipelago lies about 80 km off Vietnam's southern coast in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province and is protected under Con Dao National Park, with most surrounding waters designated a no-take marine protected area. Because the islands sit far from mainland river runoff, visibility is markedly better than at most other Vietnamese dive destinations. The reefs hold more than 400 recorded coral species and support sightings of rays, sea turtles, giant barracuda and bamboo sharks. No single center coordinate is published for the archipelago, only a bounding box, so none is set here.
