Cateran Bay

Cateran Bay lies on the northern side of Border Island, an area protected for more than 80 years where fishing and collecting are not allowed. Good hard coral with sand patches covers the bay down to about 6 m, with large plate corals and a small wall. Below, bommies with gullies and ledges continue to 12 m, and larger sweetlips and cod hide under the ledges. The best spots are on either side of the bay entrance. Current is minimal inside the bay but strong at the entrance, especially off the north-western tip.
