Fakatahuna Pass

Fakatahuna is the narrower of Toau's two passes. Kaina Plongee runs its dives along the outer drop-off next to the pass rather than through it, over coral gardens with sharks, napoleon wrasse, barracuda, snappers and manta rays. O2 Fakarava ranks the two Toau passes among the finest dives in French Polynesia, with grey, whitetip and silky sharks common. The atoll is rarely visited, so divers have the sites almost to themselves.
