Amélie
別名: Le Raisinier · Épave de l'Amélie · Epave du Raisinier
The ship, a sister ship of the Belem, started leaking at anchor in Saint-Pierre in 1902; after two days of fighting the water the crew had it towed to Anse Turin, where it sank. Its remains lie broken up on grey sand among seagrass, and the bright, shallow water makes it a colourful dive. The fragments have become a small reef in a buoyed zone where fishing and anchoring are banned, with boxfish, sergeant majors, soldierfish and well-hidden frogfish. Rays, turtles and snake eels turn up on the sand and seagrass around it. Snorkellers can reach it from the beach at Anse Turin, and dive centres of the area also visit it.
