Southwest Cut
Southwest Cut borders a wide channel through which warm lagoon water pours over the reef towards the open sea, so current, visibility and water temperature can change during the day. The reef top is mostly algae, soft coral and sand, cut by wide sand channels that drop steeply, while the wall with its grottos and holes holds most of the life. Night dives are the highlight: dozens of basket stars cling to soft corals, eels leave their holes to feed and tarpon swim above the reef. Scorpionfish, hogfish, trunkfish and filefish are also seen, and the dive starts at about 12 m.
