Abu Madafi

Abu Madafi is the reef on which the Boiler Wreck rests, and it is also dived for its own sake. A local dive centre describes sunlit caves and underground passages in the main reef that even open water divers can enjoy. Away from the caverns, sharks, barracuda, tuna and eagle rays are seen towards deeper water, and dolphins are reported in the area. The site is known for currents and good visibility, and an area behind the reef is used for snorkelling and swimming.
