Nazumado
From the entry divers head out along a large rocky ledge that shops call Uma no Se, pass under an arch in it at around 15 m and continue along ridges pointing out to sea. Because the site faces the open strait, the current is complex and can exceed 4 knots, so local shops insist on a local guide and it can be dived safely on fewer than a hundred days a year. Pelagic visitors include dogtooth tuna, amberjack, yellowfin tuna and rainbow runners, and scalloped hammerheads and thresher sharks are seen on early dives, especially from May to July. Smaller subjects include the Japanese pygmy seahorse at about 10 m, endemic morays and nudibranchs. Arabesque calls it one of the sites often named among the top five in Japan.
