La Passe

La Passe is the narrow channel between the Gulf of Tadjoura and the Ghoubbet al-Kharab, where the tide forces a large volume of water through. Strong currents make it a demanding dive, but they also bring dense fish life, rays and sharks. The walls carry soft corals and glassfish. Visibility can change greatly from one dive to the next, and the boat usually has to anchor some distance away in a spot open to the wind.
