Of the 179 people aboard, only ten survived the grounding just off the beach. A pile of ballast stones, wood debris and a large hook that was probably her anchor lie in a sand hole next to the Sandy Hole buoy, and storms occasionally uncover more of the hull. Divers come mainly for the reef, which is full of arches, narrow tunnels and hidden chambers. A shoal of horse-eye jacks often patrols the outer reef and groupers are common.
