Coco Reef is best known for the coral restoration project run by the FUNDEMAR foundation with the support of local dive centres. Divers swim past the ropes and tables on which coral fragments are raised before they are planted back onto Bayahibe's reefs. A sunken statue lies among the coral and colourful reef fish. Ultra Marine Divers names octopus, squid and seahorses among the reef life and recommends the site to photographers. It is shallow and relaxed enough for all certified levels.
