Divers can enter at three places: along the ferry jetty, which they must not pass, over the slope between the jetties with a rope, or from a dive stair in the south. Between the two jetties lies a shellfish farm whose overgrown hanging lines make an unusual backdrop; diving there is allowed as long as no fisherman is at work. Outside the harbour the slope is steep and strewn with rocks full of lumpsuckers, edible crabs, lobsters, seahorses, nudibranchs and spider crabs, and shoals of fish gather at the end of the dam. Porpoises are regularly seen at the surface. The busy fairway is close, so free ascents are out of the question.
