Coral Gardens

Le Lagoto Resort names Coral Gardens as one of two favourite dive sites of Savai'i, a few minutes out to the reef on the boat of Dive Savai'i, whose base is opposite the resort. The operator describes a large variety of corals here, among them cabbage, bubble, leather, head and purple coral. Divers follow the reef wall, where schools of parrotfish and snappers, turtles and eagle rays are seen, along with sea cucumbers, nudibranchs, clownfish and starfish; titan triggerfish turn up for those who look carefully. The shallower water around the site is also used for snorkelling.
