Black Forest
Black Forest takes its name from the black coral bushes that grow on the deeper part of the slope. The shallows hold coral heads full of anthias, groupers, scorpionfish and anemonefish, and green and hawksbill turtles feed and rest here. In the blue, schools of jacks, mackerel and barracuda are often seen, and Seaquest says it is the Balicasag site where whale sharks turn up most often. The dive is usually a drift, and titan triggerfish guard their nests aggressively from May to July.
