Niue is located in the South Pacific Ocean. It is generally well-known as the "Rock of Polynesia." A coral reef surrounds the island, with the only main break in the reef being in the central western coast, near to the capital, Alofi. As Niue is made of porous limestone, it has no lakes or streams, so all rainwater filters quickly through this rock into the sea & in doing so has carved out an amazing & unique environment to explore - caverns, caves and cathedrals! Niue is the ideal place to reconnect with family or friends with its peaceful environment.
Diving is a spectacular with a mind-boggling array of marine life, including turtles, dolphins, snakes, whales in season, hard corals and all manner of fish. Snake Gully is Niue’s signature dive site – a cavern crammed with painted crayfish, sea snakes by the dozens (and sometimes hundreds), schools of barracuda make regular appearances and all in a depth of less than 20 meters. Tamakautoga Reef is a beautiful stretch of hard coral reef with a number of dive sites. Ana Mahaga (Limu Twin Caves) is two large caverns with a tunnel connecting them. Swim with humpback whales; winter is the time.
