Rising from an era of uncertainty for travelers, Zimbabwe is one of the most underrated countries that Africa has to present with a plenty of gems ready to be explored. With its amazing landscapes, calm national parks and varied wildlife, Zimbabwe is the ideal African destination. The country is at the ideal point whereby it's increasingly stylish (the capital is all tree-lined boulevards and vivacious eateries, if you know where to look) but is still very much hidden gem area. Yet to be revealed by the masses, there's a safari scene which is quite incomparable, spectacular natural beauty all over and locals whose benevolence make any tour there memorable.
Zimbabwe, which is full of surprises, also offers some of the very fantastic diving – diving in the Chinhoyi Caves. In 1955 they were designated a National Park and since they are protected by National Parks, one is only permitted to dive there with a Zimbabwean registered dive centre. With temperatures moving between 22 and 24°C the diving is extraordinary all year round. And what a visibility! 40 meters and above is not atypical. When you look up from the depth, you can undoubtedly see trees, rock walls and people on land. This is a ideal site for divers of all qualifications.
