Zambia is a distinctive country with 73 ethnic groups, but strangely enough, the country has experienced unique unity and peace! This large, landlocked country in southern Africa has natural attractions that rival any continental opponent. The sheer size and distance of Zambia’s huge network of national parks indicate no safari jeep traffic jams, very personal service and a chance to meet massive mammals’ eye-to-eye. And in spite of its busy and fast modernizing centre, history and customs remain very much lively. It boasts some of the most unspoilt and natural landscapes in Africa. This isolated wilderness provides the prospect for game rich safaris without the crowds that so many other destinations have.
Zambia is in Central Africa and landlocked so diving is in freshwater lakes. Lake Kashiba actually has a huge range of fish species and it is surrounded by a mushitu (swamp) forest. Other scuba diving trips are offered at the magnificent Lake Tanganyika in the heart of the Rift Valley. The waters are crystal clear and ensure diver protection. The lake is relatively shallow and teaming with tropical fresh water fish. Lake Tanganyika is expected to be the 2nd biggest freshwater lake in the planet by size. The lake is very old and the blend of its age and ecological isolation has led to the growth of distinctive fish populations.
