Travel to Yemen

From the thrilling old city of Sana’a, to towns and villages for instance Shibam, Kawkaban, Manakh, Mahweet, Al-Hajarah, Tawila and more, many of which are perched in the most improbable of locations and appear to have changed little in hundreds of years. There were the vibrant canyons, the fertile green valleys’ stretching as far as one can see and the Burra and Haraz mountain ranges, all of which present landscapes that literally seem fabulous. As a travel destination, particularly one that manages to truly open the eyes of visitors to a land, culture and people that few of us are at all familiar with, Yemen could not have been better.

Diving in Yemen

Its region includes more than 200 islands, the largest of which is Socotra. Socotra Island offers amazing underwater vista, shipwrecks, stunning corals, huge groupers, black tip sharks, dolphins. Socotra Island is the only place you will find the Dragon’s Blood Tree, as it exists nowhere else in the earth. Dive sites include Kadman Island, Rocky Banks where whale sharks as well as manta rays gather. One of the most attractive destinations Yemen has to offer divers is the Hanish Island group. Rock-strewn and dry-looking from the outside, these islands feature incredible reefs and are home to an eye-popping abundance of marine life.
