Diving in Peru

Divers will locate a variety of dive sites to intrigue their interest. Nearby Pucusana offers an about 100-foot wall dive and a 60-foot wreck dive is found a short distance northwest of Lima near the Chincha Islands. Palomino Island deserves special interest due to the unique prospect it offers divers. Situated approximately one half hour from Lima, Palomino Island attracts visitors who desire to interact with its friendly sea lion colony. The nutrient and oxygen-rich Peruvian sea, found off the coast of Lima, produce the exciting biodiversity of the area. You will not find coral reefs, but you will have the chance to spot some of the more than 1,000 species of fish, 1,400 species of mollusks and 300 species of shellfish registered in Peru.
